Are you going to Circumcise your baby boy?

I'm leaning more toward yes. If you are or aren't, explain why?? I'd like to hear your opinions!

Out of 100 Circumcised boys:

75 will not readily breastfeed post-op
55 will have adverse reactions from the surgery
35 will have post-op hemorrhaging to one degree or another
31 will develop meatal ulcers
10 will need to have the circumcision surgery repeated to fix prior surgical problems/error
8 will suffer infection at the surgical site
3 will develop post-operative phimosis
2 will have a more serious complication (seizure, heart attack, stroke, loss of penis, death)
1 will require additional immediate surgery and sutures to stop hemorrhage
1 will develop fibrosis
1 will develop phimosis
1 will be treated with antibiotics for a UTI (urinary tract infection)
1 will be treated with antibiotics for surgical site infection

Of those who do receive pain medication for the surgery (about 4% of those boys undergoing circumcision in the U.S.) some will have adverse reactions to the pain medication injected

Out of 100 Intact boys: 
1 will be treated with antibiotics for a UTI (fewer if the foreskin is never forcibly retracted)
1 will be told to get cut later in life for one reason or another (fewer if the foreskin is never forcibly retracted)

After many conversations with my partner and lots of research, we've decided not to circumcise our son. There's no medical reason to have it done. If infection problems do arise (which I read only happens in 1% of babies) then they would present themselves early on. In that case, circumcision would be medically necessary but I don't think it is very likely. It is a very personal decision and I don't judge anyone for the decisions they make in the best interest of their child -- whatever that decision may be.

Whatever matches daddy and even if it didn't I personally see no reason to cut off part of the baby that I've been growing for 9 months. I'm a RN so I've seen several circs and it's just not for me. If, when they're older, it's a problem they can choose to modify their bodies however they want.

My husband wants it done on our little boy and I worked in nursing homes taking care of uncircumcised men and they can be very dirty and hard to clean, I know that you can teach boys good hygiene and such but the risk of infection is much higher for UTIs and such.

No! Nobody is touching or hurting my son's perfectly factory made penis!
Because there is no medical reason for "routine" circumcision of baby boys and I don't consider his "foreskin" a birth defect and finally because removing part of a baby's penis is painful, risky, and harmful! Get informed before you make a decision! My father, 2 of my 3 brothers and 3 of my 5 nephews were circumsied. So I'm not just making this up! Read about the risks and the benefits.

All 4 of my sons are not cut. Nor will the boy twin be cut. My husband isn't. It's unnecessary and a barbaric practice in my opinion.

They most issue we have ever had is mild antibiotic cream when they fiddle it too much, which all boys do! From a young age we teach proper care and hygiene.

I worked as a medical assistant in a paediatric office that did circumcision. It was horrific and terrifying. I would cry after the procedures. The little baby boys screams still haunt my ears.

It's your choice obviously, but this is my personal experience. Best of luck to you.

y but there is no way we could cut our son. Seems cruel and unjust to me. My SO is Canadian and it is not nearly as common for infant boys to be circumsized in Canada.
