My Labrador and my baby

I have a beautiful black lab that is my baby. He used to be extremely hyper but since I've been pregnant he has calmed down tremendously and checks on me constantly. He is mostly an outside puppy (because of neat freaky-ness I can't deal with puppy in the house 24-7), but comes in for a few hrs a day or when I tell him he can. He loves baby anything, humans, cats, chicks, whatever and has never hurt any intentionally. He just may try to play a little to rough. What age would you introduce your little one to him? I don't like the idea of him up in my baby's face when he is newborn, but when should I let him close to him?
