What didn't you get at your shower?

Now that we've had a good 12 week appointment we wanted to start buying stuff for the baby. I know our families can't afford to get us everything but I was wondering what they are less likely to buy that we should consider getting ourselves. What are some things that you all didn't get at your shower that you ended up buying yourself?

I had to buy everything myself. Apparently, it's a new trend to NOT buy a thing and just come for free food. 😒😑

Glad to hear you had a good appointment. Best thing to do is put everything you want on the registry, bc anything you don't receive as gifts from your shower you can buy after with a discount. Most stores are 10% off. Plus buy buy baby gives 20% coupons all the time! Granted we did buy a few things ahead of time, but only bc we found super sales on them. My shower is in 3 weeks. So far we have a crib (bought second hand), changing table (super sale), car seat ( also super sale) and lots of clothes from Carter's lol. Anything that isn't bought well buy after

I got the important stuff ; crib , changing table , travel system , clothes , diapers , tub . At my baby shower I just got more clothes , baby toiletries , and diapers

We didn't get any of the big stuff. We got clothes, toys, and pacifiers mostly. People will buy you things they think are cute, not practical.

Most people didn't show up to my baby shower 😁 I wanna say there was 20 people there (children included) and I got a stroller/car seat, clothes, some diapers, wipes, diaper bag, baby bath tub, $100 in cash, $100 check, and a couple gift cards.
It was fun though! We played games and ate food ☺️

I haven't had my shower yet, but I have been buying things here and there. I've bought nursery stuff like a rocker, bookshelf, decorations, I bought crib bedding, a few outfits but not many. When we made out registry I put the things on it that I want others to get us and just chose what I wanted to buy :)

We bought our crib, glider, ottoman, changing table and changing table pad ourselves around 20 weeks. Then at our shower we got the rest of our big stuff & sooooooo many clothes! We were lucky enough to win free diapers and wipes for a year at a baby expo so we don't need to buy any. All we have left to get now are some random things like bottles and some bedding, & some little items here and there. I also want to get some more decor for his room since I don't have much.
