It should be necessary to have someone teach you to breastfeed, but in the last 100 years our country hasn't done it much, so few women have watched other moms do it, and few women have a bunch of friends who've breastfed for years to get help from. I'm pretty rare in that I still remember breastfeeding. But I can't think of any of my friends who have any experience. So, if everyone around us breastfed like we did 100 years ago, we wouldn't need help.

I would only do it as long as it's not an everyday kind of thing. Maybe once a week that way you wont feel like they're forcing anything.
