Why do pagans seem so nice??

I'm assuming all the dancing naked in the woods increases the blood flow and endorphins. Y'all seem pretty awesome to me! But you're lacking the bitter sarcasm that the atheists have become known for, that gives them that edgy, angry, baby eating vibe 😂.

My father was Methodist, raised baptist, and my mother was pagan.

I think both religions, in our family at least, taught love and respect...

But I think the pagan side tended to be less judgmental, more easy going, and more appreciative towards fellow animals and humans rather than just God.

For me, I had etiquette lesson every Wednesday and Thursday at my Oma's house. She told me it was because if I ever met the Queen (any queen, Swedish, Danish or English didn't matter) that we should know how to be polite.

I grew up in a Lutheran church, and when I was little the community was so tightly knit it felt like I had a giant extended family. Unfortunately most of them were older, 70's-80's, so when they started passing away the new members didn't seem to be as apt to do what the older members had done. The opinions got to be way more radical about the gays, women, abortion, even how we should spend money.

I left because I asked the Abrahamic deity "Hey, this is weird, you know it, I know it, what do I do?" I was in the back pew during a silent reflection. I heard a very loud booming voice say "Go you are not mine, you are a wolf of Odin, not a lamb of God." It took me 2 years to actually act on it.

I'd been struggling with the idea that if I acted like a proper Viking, things went my way. I was also happier, healthier and my parents seemed to throw less abuse my way.

In the middle of my 24th year on this earth, I finally answered the call of the Gods. Everything makes so much more sense, and Asatru encourages all of my otherwise "annoying" personality quirks and compulsions like needing to understand the world, practicing magic, etc. So it's been affirming knowing that the Gods and ancestors support the "weirdos" like me!

My own personal assumption, which could totally be wrong and is based off of anecdotal experience.
Pagans in general face a lot of hate for what they believe in already. They get how it feels to be beaten about, why would they treat others the way they are? Why would they want to harm another when they know how that pain feels, and why tempt le karma. Of course everyone has their limits though.
