Chemical Pregnancy?!

So I just found out I'm pregnant about two weeks ago. Got blood work 4 times and my numbers are going up, but not doubling. So the doctor wants to wait 10 days to see if I miscarry and if I don't, he wants to do a D/C. My thing is what if they got it wrong? What if I'm not as far as they think? Has anyone had this happen to them? I have a gut feeling that I will carry this baby and it's not a chemical pregnancy, my numbers are going up at least. I could see if they are dropping, but they are not. I don't want to make a mistake, I feel like I want my body to do the talking and if I don't carry this baby, my body will pass the baby. They could have it totally wrong! Please share your experiences with me?!

This happened to a friend of mine. They thought she was two weeks farther along than she was due to her irregular periods. They were going off her last menstrual cycle which was completely inaccurate. They even told her she would lose it.... And now she is almost past the 1st trimester and baby is growing great!!!!!! Don't rush into it unless there is a definite problem. Your body knows what to do. Otherwise get a second opinion.

I'm sorry you're in a limbo now. Usually doctors recommend to wait for two weeks and then they do blood tests again, and also an ultrasound to see if you're pregnancy is consistent with the levels. If it makes you feel better, take a second opinion from another doctor.. Good luck and keep us posted. I hope yours will be a successful pregnancy.

I had an anembrionic pregnancy and a missed miscarriage. But my OB didn't give up until they had done ultrasounds once a week for three weeks and bloodwork about 5 times. Even at 9 weeks they told me there was no hurry and I could decide what to do. I had a D&C at week 10.

IF it is true and you are going to miscarry you don't have to have a D&C unless you are at risk of complications. Otherwise a doctor should give you the option to wait it out, take medication to start the miscarriage or a D&C.

If you are not comfortable with the options your doctor is giving you seek a second opinion. I really hope he is wrong and you will soon get to see a heartbeat and soon after have a healthy baby.

This has happened to me twice. Both times I had to have a DC. My Dr kept checking each week by ultrasound.  By 10 weeks there was still no heart beat, only tissue. Yet my uterus and the yoke sac were the size of 10 weeks. I have 3 children by c section.  I am high risk to have contractions so DC was the safest choice for me. I was comfortable at that point knowing there was no mistake,  it doesn't make it easier for the loss but helps you know you did the right thing. Wait until you have all the information you need to be comfortable.  Good luck
