My baby is about 1.5 weeks old and I have been struggling with whether or not I want to give up on breastfeeding and switch to formula. I have been in so much pain from an incorrect latch but have been working with an l.c. To correct. Also she is not sleeping at night. She just cries for hours on end and wants to basically use me as a pacifier. I have given her a supplemental bottle here and there at night when I was in too much pain to breastfeed her. Last night she cried for 7 hours during the night. I was in pain and could not bare to feed all night so I ended up giving her supplemental formula 3 times without pumping. Have I just completely ruined my chances of keeping my milk supply high? I have had such a great supply so far. And I still keep teeter tottering back and forth on whether I want to keep breastfeeding so I'd hate to mess that up if I choose to do so. Also, I'm getting worried that she won't bond with me if I stop breastfeeding. Anyone have any good advice? Also, please no one lecture me on why breast is best. I have done plenty of research on my own and am aware of the facts.
