Scratching sensation or feels like the baby is digging out

I'm 38 weeks and 2 days. Last Sunday at 5:00 am I felt the baby drop. It felt like period like cramping through my belly and around my back for almost 45mins, and a burning or stretching sensation inside. Wednesday my midwife said that I was 60% effaced, and 2 cm dilated. Since then when walking or doing things I feel pressure, and what feels like the baby scratching out. I hope this means I'm going in labor soon. Any ideas?
