My birth story. Jeremiah Ethan Todd

Leanna

Okay so we need to do some throwbacks here. A few days after the 4th of July I was placed on watch for preeclampsia. Due to having headaches and severe swelling. Well my 34 week mark hits and luckily still no preeclampsia but everything was getting worse and blood pressure was now beginning to rise so got put on bed rest. Being a single pregnant woman it terrified me to be home alone now so my mom came to stay a week later after I had to go to hospital to be checked due to contractions. Well at 36 weeks and 3 days the scariest thing happened. My water broke but it was nothing but blood. So what normally takes 30 minutes to drive to the hospital was alot quicker.

I was able to get into a room rather quickly considering the process it takes at my hospital. Well by the time I got to the room instead of just blood I had clots the size of my hand falling out. I was immediately put in the bed and placed on the monitor.

With each contraction my baby boys heartrate would drop but then we couldn't even find a beat only minutes later. I was rushed frantically to the OR where they prepped me for an emergency csection. All I remember was getting my iv and a foley inserted and then going to sleep.

A whole 4 hours later I was finally awake so I could go to a room. Dr informed me that surgery took a while bc I lost so much blood and they almost lost me on the table. So finally I was told someone was there to see me...

MY BABY BOY LIVED!

He was the most precious 5 lb 8oz baby I had ever laid eyes on. Here we are 2 months later and I still can't take my eyes off of him!
