your man isnt usually abusive or even rough around you but he snaps and hits you?

I was in an abusive relationship two years ago. 
One day we got into an argument, he snapped and punched me in the face. He swore he'd never do it again. A couple of weeks later we get into a fight and he slaps me, holds me down, spits in my face, pulled me by my hair, choked me, and called me awful names...he swore he'd never do it again. 
I was dumb as hell and stayed. He did it over and over again until 10 months into put relationship I had had enough. 
Then come to find out he cheated on me, he stole money from me and my mother And he just ended up being a worthless piece of shit.
Even if a man get angry with you, he should NEVER put his hands on you. But as woman we should know better to never put our hands on a man. It's not right and here woman are all about wanting to get treated equal but cry to the police if we hit a man and they hit us back.
  We all need to keep our hands to ourself and respect one another.

It usually starts with little things and then escalates. He used to shove me a little when we'd argue, I brushed it off because he was so apologetic. Then he'd grab my arm and jerk me around, which eventually led to him slapping me....I just blamed that on the fact that we had both been drinking...it was always some other reason for it, I never admitted he was abusive. It eventually turned into him being controlling and extremely abusive....so it doesn't matter how seldom it happens or how apologetic he is after, the first time anyone puts their hands on anyone in a relationship that should be the end of the relationship.

Men make mistakes. They are human too. Women tend to forget that. Of course it is NOT OKAY to ever hit a person. But your saying he usually isn't like this, so there could be many underlying factors as to why he reacted like this now. Try and talk to him about it. Leaving him won't make you or him feel better. And it most definitely doesn't mean that he will hit you again no matter what "statistics" say.

If it's what you want, then I don't see the problem but if he's doing it in an abusive way, really hurting you, not having consent and you don't enjoy it, tell him and if he continues, leave him.
