Is even the faintest line a positive test?

Yes, super faint lines just mean it is early and there isn't as much HCG in your body. It will get darker.

False positives are not impossible. Just a lot less likely. If it was within the time limit, it's safe to assume it's positive. It should get darker in the next few days. If it was outside the time limit it might be an evap. I'd wait a few days and test again :)
