Peanut butter during pregnancy?!

Yay or nay? (As I'm eating my pbj sandwich) heard different things about consuming peanuts during pregnancy as it may affect the baby. What do you know and heard?

My doc told me the same the peanut butter is a great source of protein! And I have GD so when I have a sweet tooth, PB is my saving grace!

Yes, studies show that pregnant women who consume nuts during their pregnancy actually lower the chances of their babies having peanut allergies. Peanut butter is also a great source of protein (about one serving, 6-7 grams, of protein in every 2 tablespoons). I also recommend almond butter- a bit more protein and less calories than peanut butter, and a nice crunchier texture.

I think the only concern I've heard is if you have a peanut allergy. I'm completely obsessed with chocolate and peanut butter these days...

I'm on WIC. Peanut butter is one of the things you're allowed to purchase, so I'm not sure why anyone would think it's bad for pregnant women.
