Fainting?!

Has anyone else had any problems with fainting during their pregnancy? Luckily I was already In the hospital when it happened x

My life long girlfriend had this happen to her and it was so incredibly scary! She had to wear a heart monitor with her second child and her doctor told her it was something that would unfortunately get worse with each pregnancy. It wasn't until she fainted at 25 weeks in the middle of Target, with her son in a shopping cart that her doctor put her on bed rest. I don't know the technical name for what had happened but it had to do with the fact that her heart was working so hard to pump her blood that it would just take a break. So for the last 15 weeks if she felt light headed she was to lie down on her back for 5 minutes. And she did.. Anywhere that she felt light headed. It's super terrifying and I hope what you're dealing with isn't what she had to go through. But I also hope it helps you find out what is wrong.

I got extremely nauseous and cold (which is not at all normal for me) in Toys R Us the other week and the next thing I knew I couldn't see anything and my body felt super heavy, I was trying to make it back to my husband and daughter so I grabbed onto the shelves but before I could, I passed out. The culprit for me was low blood pressure, although my midwife tried to tell me it was blood sugar and I knew it wasn't because I used to be hypoglycemic for years and it never felt that way, this time I got better so quickly as soon as I was off my feet and then I felt fine plus I eat tons of protein daily and my blood sugar is always at awesome levels. With hypoglycemia I don't feel fine immediately afterwards and I have to eat something to even be able to function again after it drops. It was later confirmed it was indeed my blood pressure like I had suspected. At each prenatal following my bp has been pretty low and I get super dizzy when I stand up even though I try to go as slow as possible. It's not really a concern at this point, just have to pay attention to signs it may happen again (for me, the nausea and chills were my warning signs). Dehydration and low blood sugar however, can cause low bp but not always the case. Bp lowers naturally with pregnancy, sometimes it just does so too much.
