40 weeks or nine months?

Ok I'm told by allobgyns that it's 40 weeks, not nine months. Wtf? Why do we say 9 months?

Because we typically find out a month in so we go off the nine months we are aware..but it is 40 weeks and it is 10 months

Also, 40 weeks is 9 months and 1 week.. There are 4.333 weeks per month (not 4 weeks per month) since there are more than 28 days almost every month..  Hope that helps.

It is technically 40 weeks which translates to 10 months because you don't usually find out till your already 4-5 weeks pregnant because it takes the 1 week for your period, then your egg develops and you ovulate and then it can take up to 2 weeks for the egg to implant. So that's 4 weeks that your pregnant but not technically pregnant.

40 weeks is definitely more accurate.
When I ask a pregnant woman how far along she is, I almost find it weird when she responds with months instead of weeks! There is SO much development that takes place in 4ish weeks (a month)!

Lol this reminds me of something. When I was pregnant with my youngest I was telling my husband that I'm now 7months, I was 28 weeks ok. So he argued with me about how there's not exactly 4 weeks in a month and all that. And I said but in any case I'm 7 months. He kept arguing with me that I wasn't and I freaking lost it!!!!  Lmao it's funny now but I was so lissed off lol
