How long did you wait?

How long should one wait before deciding to have sex with your partner? I mean it in the sense of not going too fast. I feel comfortable with my partner and it's something I want to do with him eventually but I don't want to go to fast with him and potentially ruin our growing relationship. How long did you wait? What effects did that have in your relationship? (eg.; Did that bring you closer or distance you and your partner?)

We waited 15 hours. Lol. First date went really well. We met online, swapped numbers and decided to meet in person at a public park to see if there was chemistry. We walked and talked there for 4 hours. Went to dinner and stayed at the restaurant for 4 hours talking and falling for each other, and hour was spent saying goodbye by our cars. We shared a kiss and said goodbye. We went our separate ways and talked on the phone until after I'd gotten home and decided I couldn't get enough of him. He came over, we talked on the couch for several more hours and we ended up making love. I'd had "one night stands" in the past, but this was far from that. It was very meaningful, we really connected that first night on so many levels. We are inseperable. He is my rock. We married a year later and have been happy ever since.

i slept around a lot before i met my current boyfriend, and he hadn't even had his first kiss until me. we only waited about two months.
for those two months before we had sex all we really did was make out, and i went down on him a couple times. but it made all of the firsts so exciting. and i've had sex with a lot of people before my current boyfriend. like a loot. but when we finally did have sex. oh. man. let me tell you, i was scared. i had had sex literally hundreds of times, but i was so nervous. it turned out to be a great thing, though. i loved that i was scared and i loved how nervous i was before all of those other firsts too. i think it did strengthen our relationship to wait that long. but i also think it was a little different for me because i was used to the one night stand kind of thing and he was a virgin. so kind of weird, but yeah. anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Me and my partner were talking for 2 months before we started dating, he asked me out on sep 9 of 2014 and on oct 8 of 2014, I made a huge decision to give my virginity to him. He was not a virgin which made me uncomfortable at first bc I felt like I was giving it away so easily, but now I don't think about it. We have now been together for a little over 13 months. We've had very big rough patches, but forgive quickly. Sex after an argument however is very stress relieving. In our relationship we do use sex as a way to get things out. If you are sure about a guy and feel like he is the one, do what YOU want. It may build an intimate foundation.
