Taking baby to high altitude

I plan on asking my doctor and when the baby is born, her pediatrician, but I was wondering if any of you had any personal experience with this. My husband and I are from Colorado but we moved to Texas. We would like to go back to Colorado to visit family over Christmas. I'm due November 13th and we would be flying out to Denver on December 15th so she would be about a month old. My family lives in the mountains in Conifer, Co. Has anyone taken a one month old up to high elevations? Is it safe?
