Should I stay on my birth control?

I really don't like taking birth control pills. :/ They mess with my hormones, make my period an emotional roller coaster and trick my body into not releasing an egg. After all that my period tries it's hardest to come around the last week of my active pills. I really don't like putting off my period, it feels super unnatural and its gives me KILLER cramps. But, I really don't want to get pregnant :( is that a good enough reason to go through all that?
