I've always heard this, but wasn't sure WHY it's not allowed. I used to receive food stamps before, once my husband joined the Marine Corps and we moved on base I gave it up. We were doing ok, because housing was covered and it gave us room for groceries. We have our 6 year old daughter and my 9 year old nephew with one the way. My husband is currently on recruiting duty, so we are nowhere near a base or commissary and his BAH + whatever else isn't enough. My business isn't doing so well, I am currently applying for assistance with utilities... Is food stamps out of the question? Or can I apply, because we are not on/ near base?
