Sleeping on my back?

Can I sleep on my back? I'm 31 weeks and it seems to be the only way I can get comfortable at times, but someone told me that it wasn't safe?

I think it's fine if you're comfortable. I'm 36 weeks and I sleep on my back, left, or right side. Your body should tell you when to move. The other night I laid on my right side for too long and woke up with my leg numb so I knew it was time to switch positions.
