Type 1 Diabetes and BC

Hello! I am 18 and I am thinking of going on bc so I have an even slimmer chance of getting pregnant (my boyfriend and I use condoms right now). I have taken a few different types of oral contraceptives in the past (for hormonal issues and regulating my period) but it eventually caused insulin resistance and I had high blood sugars all the time. I also gained about 15 lbs. I was just wondering if there are any other women with T1D that have had any success with bc. If you could share your stories with me it would be greatly appreciated! I am planning on talking to a healthcare professional about this soon, but I just wanted some insight before I start the process! Thanks in advance!
