What kind of birth control?

So I just got into a new relationship and we are talking sex and I want to have it soon like next weekend. I made an appointment for Friday to get a pap and full std testing (I haven't had unprotected sex in a while and I've been tested a few times since but I like to be sure). We already said we don't like our want to use condoms but getting pregnant might be bad too. I'm thinking the pill again also maybe nuva ring but I had a lot of issues last time I did that. Idk I'm afraid of like being back on BC kind of
