Period 6days late

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting so please bare with me. I have a long history of endometriosis and jad a cyst and several tumors removed in July. I had been trying to conceive for over a year with no luck. Decided to stop trying for a while and just let my body be and now im 6 days late. Period was due last thursday and i took a test Monday but it was negative. Experiencing cramping and light headedness but no period. Should i try testing again? If so, when should i do it? I really dont want to get my hopes up.
