I know it's really hard dear, but I promise it will get better! Just stick with it and apply lanolin like a madwoman, and pretty soon your nipples will callous enough to allow for painless and happy breastfeeding... :) Good luck to you!

The after pains/ cramps hurt the worst for me, but this was baby #3 and supposedly they get worse with every pregnancy. Ibuprofen helped though! I will admit the ring of fire and pushing during delivery was painful but it was said and done so quick I don't count that ;)

I think taking the ibuprofen helped with my engorgement pains too.

I will say thrush hurt worse than engorgement! Random shooting pains between nursing sessions and seiouskg sore nipples was not fun!

Getting stitches hurt more than labour pain and breast feeding (or trying to) hurt more than both of those together.
