Family/friends rooting for one gender over the other?

I am currently pregnant with baby #3. I have two girls and all my friends/family are rooting for us to have a boy. "You better have a boy!" "Hope it's a boy!" "Are you guys hoping for a boy? I bet you are."

I wouldn't say this upsets me necessarily, but it has been really off putting! Anyone have a tactful way of dodging these comments?

I have reasons for wanting a boy and reasons for wanting a girl. I'm just happy to be having another baby!

We only have 1 girl and have even had comments from strangers who say they hope we have a boy! I couldn't care less either way but a lot of people are very emotionally invested on the gender of our baby lol

My FIL has made a few comments abut hoping for a boy (to carry on the family name, I guess), but we plan on a bunch of kids so chances are we'll have at least one of each. I just roll my eyes. Fortunately I think everyone in our lives understands that it's in God's hands, not ours. No one will be disappointed either way, they'll just be glad for another baby! I would shut down comments with "Whatever God gives us is fine by us!" I don't even care for the "As long as it's healthy" comments, because while I hope for a healthy baby, I will still love it if it isn't, and I will still recognize it as a beautiful gift from God.

With all my friends that can't have children due to infertility, the ones who have lost children from miscarriage and still birth.. I'd shut them up real quick with some humble pie. Of course you can hope for one or the other, but the continued chanting is annoying. They should be praying for healthy first and foremost

It's just funny because it's not like it's anything any of us can control. I would just say to those people, "There's a 100% that it'll be one or the other."

And then maybe they'll just get confused and walk away.

Same thing is happening to me. This is my first but there aren't many boys in my family so everyone is hoping for a boy. It just gets a little irritating because I just want a healthy child no matter the sex. I just try to laugh it off because my family is really persistent

Everyone is telling me, "I hope this one is a boy" because I have two girls 15 months apart. My youngest will be 2.5 when this one is born. I already think it's a girl.

I might just keep the gender a surprise till the end lol I'm going to get the same comments since I have three boys lol so to tick them off I may just go silent 😇
