Do I need my parents consent?

I'm currently 17 and I'm pregnant I turn 18 next month but I have a question.  Me and my boyfriend plan to get checked I've heard since I'm under age I still have to have my parents come get checked as well.  Is that true?.. I thought if you were pregnant you were filed as an adult under the law.

I think once you become pregnant you're medically emancipated if you're a minor , I'm 17 & that's how it is in Mississippi

It depends on where you live I think. And possibly what clinic you go to. Do some research on your local laws and the clinic's policies. You could even call and ask if you're still unsure. Good luck!

Where I live, the woman's center in the hospital didn't ask anything about my mom. I was 16. I went in, told them I needed to be added on the ob patients list and they went from there. No parents required. Now, when I go to the hospital, they see that I'm a mom and they don't need parental concent for anything.
