Elected csection or vaginal?

38 weeks and 3 days today. First baby and even though I'm so excited to just have her in my arms already im getting a little nervous about the birth. Trying to decide whether I should have an elected c sec or try vaginal? Really wanted to just experience natural labor but think c section would be the better option.  Very small hips and my moms experience with having me was so horrible that she's begging me to get a c section lol. Also have 6 herniations and a cervical spine straightening. I know everyone's different but would love everyone's opinions please!!! Have my next appointment on Thursday and my ob said to tell him then if I want a csec and he'll schedule it for Saturday 😁

Vaginal and I've had both. Some of the smallest women deliver big babies. Your body was created to have children. Believe in your body!

I would at least attempt to have vaginal birth, it's better for you and the baby.  Everyone is nervous about the birth process but it will be ok.  Good luck!

Try vaginal. Then, if it's not working, you can always have a section. Don't rush the last weeks away. They're kinda awesome. Good luck whatever you choose.

I do natural all the way! Recovery was a breeze with my first, BUT I was extremely comfortable, felt safe in my home and relaxed. I did not use much energy to labor (falling back asleep between contractions) and I gave birth in an upright position (without anyone telling me when I should push or how- that can exhaust you) which allowed gravity to bring the baby down and out with no tears. You might not get anything like that in a hospital unless you demand it. 
The majority of the people I know who have had csections report very difficult recovery, one out of the 5 has had lasting pain/ problems. 
One was up the same day. One a few days later. The other 2 just said it was hard and painful with the varying recovery time but all longer than vaginal birth. 
With your back problems I'm surprised your dr hasn't discussed it with you yet. I would think if you do end up with a vaginal delivery, you should not be on your back at all, but entirely upright or on all fours. 
The other thing that can be important to consider it that vaginal birth is generally considered much healthier in the long run and csections are a major surgery, no matter how casual it seems.

It's very rare to be unable to give birth due to hip size. It's also something you won't know until you labor. Id try vaginal and go from there!

I just had my 2nd c section. The recovery was a breeze this time. It was not horrible the first time, either. I think you should ask your dr what the pros and cons are of each. One of my friends just told me that her niece broke her tailbone during a vaginal birth. There are risks and potential complications with each type of delivery.

It can happen, my friend ended up with an emergency section 10 days ago as she has tiny hips too. From having gone through labour & ending up with an emergency section on my 1st I'm electing for a section- this Friday!

I would definitely ask your dr for his opinion. Clearly if they think your cervix might be too small for delivery, you may end up in a c-section after trying to push.  But, the recovery would be much easier after a vaginal delivery.

I just had my baby vaginally and I have a small frame and narrow hips. My mom had three c sections due to complications, but I still had no serious problems during mine and I will definitely be going that route again. It varies woman to woman though, everybody is different including in families. I would say try for naturally and if anything happens you can always suggest c section.

I had a c section 2 weeks ago. I wish I could have tried vaginally first. But my little boy was breech and stubborn. I can't compare to vaginally because this was my first but the recovery sucks. I start to feel great one day then the next it's like I'm back to square one. My stomach has been a mess since having it. It definitely wasn't the easy way out
