Leaking fluid?

40w2d and I just went to the bathroom. Although I didn't really have to go (thought I had to poo...but didn't have to) and then fluid started coming out. I tried stopping the flow, but couldn't.

Any tips to confirm my water broke/is leaking or not?

I was told if you can't stop it then it's probably your water. But I'd go to L&D to make sure. Hopefully it is tho! Good luck!

There isn't a way to double check before going in to L&D? I went in once (like 3 weeks ago) and it wasn't. I would like to try and get a second personal evaluation before rushing off to L&D. I thought I read before to lie down (for how long?) and then stand up and see if it gushes again. I put on a pad so I can check that in a little while.

wait it out. walk around to see if it happens again. could have been your waters. mine was more of a series of small gushes. nothing like they show in the movies. you gotta trust your body

Sounds like it's broken. They say if you can't stop it, that's a pretty sure sign.

Go to the hospital and they do a test to distinguish fluid vs urine---good luck!!
