Epidural?

Sarah and Anna... Did either of you get an epidural?  I'm terrified of needles and was thinking of having a natural birth, but now that I may have to be induced I'm not so sure.  What was your experiences?

My epidural literally saved me lol I was in so much pain I was screaming (not even dramatic over the top screaming lol I didn't know I was so loud until my husband told me after everything). As soon as the epidural started working I was able to sleep through contractions which helped me a lot because I hadn't slept at all the night before. As far as needles and pain - the contractions hurt me way more than any needle they could stick me with lol - I didn't even feel the epidural go in.  I went into labor knowing that I wanted an epidural so I kind of think I wasn't mentally prepared for so much pain. I feel like it would be different to go into it expecting/wanting to not get it.

Yes. Mine all escalated so quickly that I was already contracting with no breaks in between which made it very difficult to sit through without moving. The nurses were great. I actually waited so last second that I had to have an extra shot of something through my iv because the epidural didn't numb down as far as it was supposed to. That extra shot was a life saver! I still felt pressure and the need to push but could never imagine feeling the pain of contractions on top of all of that!
