Fertility specialist???

Question

Has anyone been to a fertility doctor? I have my first appt on Oct 26. What are some of the things they do and ask at your consult appt??

Yes I had mine in early October, that's true lots of tests, and a lot of questions. Although, I felt soooooo much better after my appointment. To have a plan makes me calm and I felt much better after meeting with the doc. I left feeling comfortable in the docs abilities and plan, so it really ended up being a relief for me. They pretty much just set up test dates that correlate with your cycle. We didn't do anything else at our consult.

I went and took one test and we figured it out right then and there.l that I had blocked tubes. So the seeing the specialist part of it was quick and easy. For me at least(;

Tons of test, nothing painful though. At first appt I had a minor meltdown because it was just so overwhelming when we started talking about costs and the process of iui.  The staff were very sweet and patient talking me through it all. Don't let it discourage you if it's at all overwhelming. We're doing our first round of iui next month. I'm still nervous and a little mad at the world but my nurse is so sweet and understanding she makes it seem doable.

Going to see an RE was the best choice I ever made. She gave me a proper diagnosis of PCOS. She moves quick and is very positive about making this happen. Write down all the questions you have before you go in. Lots of blood tests and vaginal ultra sounds are in your future! Good luck!

Ive just had a failed iui.... Absolutely devastated... I've got unexplained infertility... Hoping to do another treatment next cycle but I've had to leave it a month in between. The tests are OK.... Lots of them and the NHS take forever so I went private xx

Yes saw one Oct 6th.. It's a lot of
Information and testing. Luckily I'm a nurse so I understand the process. I can imagine it being overwhelming for those not in healthcare. It's a long process but worth it. Good luck you will do great :) just keep in mind it's a lot of testing and takes some time :)
