Do you wish you waited?

Question

Most women who lose their virginity between ages fifteen and nineteen actually wish they had waited a bit longer. Additionally, most teenagers lose their virginity by age 17, but those who have not lost their virginity by 24 tend to stay a virgin.

I lost my virginity at the age of 14..I thought I was ready but I do wish I had of waited!

Anyone else feel the same?

No. The idea of virginity being sacred is a biblical concept. I think society has this heavy sense of shame attached to virginities, as if we are somehow less pure once we have become sexually active. In reality, Sex is a primal urge, some say it's even a basic need unless you're asexual. When I first had sex, I was 17 years old and it was with a partner who proved himself to be a total asshole. But do I regret it? No. It was going to happen anyway whether it was him or someone else. But look, first times are almost never that magical and loving experience we see in movies. Good sex comes with experience and communication. Like I said, I don't think anyone should ever feel ashamed of their sexual choices unless they have been abusive and destructive. Everyone has been young and stupid, but if you feel shame about it, it's maybe time to let it go and focus on your future sexual endeavors rather than focusing so much on things you cannot change.

I waited till I was 20. Wish I would have waited cause 3 months later my boyfriend and I got together and we've now been together 6 years in January and have a daughter

Nope. I love sex and never regretted losing my virginity. Although what constitutes losing it? Is that a personal attitude or is there a specific definition? Hmmm questions.

Yup. The plan was to wait for the right guy but of course peer pressure and being manipulated came into play. I regret it everyday.

I do but I don't. 
I had sex for the first time when I was 14 with someone I thought I loved. The experience was great, he was so gentle. 
When I look back on the moment I still sort of smile.

I'm 20 now and do wish I had waited, but at the same time I don't. 
After I had sex I was able to receive the proper tests for Endometriosis and was able to get put on proper medication for it. (At the age of 14)
So it sort of saved me.

I don't regret it. I lost my virginity at 15, which looking back seems really young (I'm only 18 now though). But it was with my boyfriend, who I (thought I) loved very much, and it was everything I could have imagined and more. We broke up almost two years ago, and I hadn't had another sexual partner until recently. But ultimately, you just have to do whatever suits you. It's your body, your rules. Do what you want, but stay safe. 😊
