Any coeliacs?

Question

Hi, I am 26 and have been with my boyfriend for nearly 6 years. We have always talked about marriage and children and have decided when he finishes his uni course and gets a job we will start thinking about trying for a baby.
I currently have a copper coil but also have coeliac disease and polycycstic ovaries and the thought of not being able to have a baby terrifies me! It's all I've ever wanted.

I wondered if any of you are coeliac and have had any problems conceiving?

I am a celiac also! My doctor said she has had a lot of celiac moms come through and never had any trouble with them conceiving unless they were still eating gluten. However, she did say that once I'm pregnant I will be seeing a gastroenterologist along with my ob and we will do more blood work to keep an eye on vitamin deficiencies. It's nice to meet other celiacs on here! :)

Thanks for replying all! I was told I have a hormone imbalance and may need help when trying to conceive but won't get any info etc until that time comes. I am completely gluten free now and take iron and calcium supplements.

Nice to see other people have been lucky and able to conceive :) xx

I don't know why celiac would make it hard to conceive.. As long as your taking care of yourself and not eating what you shouldn't be..

I am not that familiar with the effects celiac has on ttc, so I can't really help there.  But, I have PCOS and have a 5yo dd and am 10w1d pregnant now.  I have had 2 unexplained mc's, but am able to conceive with just taking metformin to regulate my cycles and using LH strips to track ovulation.

Hi I am 27 and coeliac and got married back in May. Had the coil taken out 6 months before that and still no luck :( 
I think it all is dependant on the person X
