Formula recommendations?

I'm a first time mom who really wants to try breastfeeding, but may not be able to due to health issues. I want to have some formula stocked up at home in case I'm unable to breastfeed, and would be grateful for any recommendations from other moms who have used formula before!

It took several tries with my daughter to find the formula that worked best for her, similac didn't agree with her, she did fairly well with enfamil gentle but she did great with Walmart generic brand (parents choice) gentle formula, go figure.  I would advise against "stocking up" especially if you have to try several different kinds before you find what works best for your baby.  Instead put some money aside for after baby is here and you know what formula works best if you need it.

I personally hope to breastfeed this time around but I also have a jar where I've been stashing money away for formula if we need it(I try to put about $15 cash in it each week).  This way I don't have a stock pile of formula that may not agree with baby.

Honestly I wouldn't stock up on formula. Lots of babies don't like certain ones so you're going to have to do trial and error and you can't return formula.

My oldest did really well on the Kroger brand gentle formula. It seemed to sit better than name brands. We had luck with sams club formula too.

I use enfamil on both my kids and they both love it the vitamins in it is great and I will be useing it again

I started out with Enfanil Gentlease to try to refuse the risk of gas and colic and when my lil guy was about 4 months old a friend who's baby was the same age as mine told me about Sams Club's brand formula. I tried it and it worked great for my kiddo. It is less than half the price of the other brands so I was happy & relieved cause I had no idea how much formula costs.
