Charles vs Charlie

My husband and I have decided to name our little boy Charles, middle name Parker, but we will call him Charlie. Obviously on his birth certificate and everything it will say Charles. But when we announce his birth should we just say his name is Charlie since that is what we are going to call him or should we say it as Charles with "Charlie"
