There's usually a six week medical lock down. Some people follow the advice, which I highly recommend doing, and some people don't.

You can have sex when you feel ready, BUT they like you to wait 6 weeks due to the risk of getting an infection. I have before the two weeks after birth.

6 weeks for vaginal birth and 8 for cesarean is standard, but your care provider will always leave it up to you to extend it longer if you aren't ready. Your uterus is an open wound after birth from where the placenta was attached (this is the spot you're bleeding from after birth). Your vagina, cervix, uterus and pelvic floor have just gone through the most traumatic thing they'll experience- respect that.

I think it depends on delivery. I had my son natural and i only waited a week went to the dr and be said i should have waited but if it wasnt painful or uncomfortable then it was fine

I was told 6 weeks both times. (For a natural birth) not only because your insides need to heal, but you're incredibly fertile during the month after a birth or miscarriage.

Doctor / midwife tells u like 8 weeks or so but I caved and did it at 5 or 6 weeks this last time because I felt ready and didn't tear and everything felt healed and good to go.
