Delaying (not skipping) period with Pills

Lauren
I know that is fairly accepted to "skip" your period when you need to, or for convenience  by simply starting a new pack of pills when placebo week (period week) begins.
I am supposed to start a new pack of pills tomorrow night. However if I do that, I will have my period next month on a date that I need to schedule a gynecologist appointment...it has to be these days because I do not live in the city where this doctor is (in the process of relocating but one of the things I will be asking my doctor is to refer me to doctors in my new city). I also have to have a full health screening for work by December (new job= relocation).
Here's my question- can I just not begin my new pack of pills this week, taking the risk of pregnancy which is not a worry for me (once new doctors and relocation is settled we will begin ttc, this will be my last month of pills anyways) and begin them the following week...therefore "delaying" my period for the week?
My cycle has been insanely regular since I started in middle school. I have never dealt with spastic cycles or my period mysteriously not showing up. This is why I'm sure my period will take place on those dates.
Do I delay?
