Baby shower for baby #2?

I don't really want a full-on shower for this baby. But I feel like every new baby deserves a celebration!

We don't need a lot of "stuff", unless we have a boy in which case we'll need a whole new wardrobe. But I just want a party! I love any excuse for cake and socializing.

Problem for me is also that I don't have anyone to throw me a shower this time either. My cousin threw mine for me last time, but now she's not available. My BFF lives in another state and can't even afford to do it.

I know enough that showers for a 2nd baby are not technically proper, and you definitely don't throw them for yourself! So, I guess I'm just kinda bummed. I want this baby to have as much fanfare coming into the world as our first baby did :(

My friend threw herself a "sprinkle" for her 2nd. Just a small thing at her house, but as far as I know, no one cared that she threw it or that it was for #2.

Or just don't throw a "shower" it's really not appropriate but if you want to celebrate this baby you and your partner should throw a get together in celebration of the baby. Maybe do a gender reveal at that party that way people don't feel obligated to bring you a gift and you haven't registered anywhere.

I think we may do a baby "sprinkle" for baby #2. Our 1st is now 7 years old. It's not like we have a ton of baby stuff laying around.  But we won't register or anything.

Where I live we have baby showers every time weather it's the first or the fifth. If you want to have it then do it. Celebrate the new baby coming in the world. Give it everything your first had.

Throw a party if you want to throw a party, but I think second showers are tacky.  Though maybe this depends on where you're from.
