We all define success differently anyway. I consider myself extremely successful as a SAHM. And I don't really care if other people define success for themselves in a different manner.

If you define success in terms of career, then sorry to say it, but women are generally less likely to achieve as much success with children as they would without. I'm sure there are exceptions (I'm trying to be one), but for the most part, women who can devote their time and energy to just themselves (and maybe a spouse) will have less difficulty putting in the hours and focus it may take to be successful in a profession. 
   
However, if you define success as being happy and fulfilled both at home and work, then women who choose and don't choose children probably have equal chances of achieving that.

people actually voted no? man oh man, i almost feel sorry for you for having no aspirations in life. I'm a mom to a toddler and I'm pregnant with number 2. I was a full time nursing student last year and I'm currently a part time student and I work a few days a week at a doctors office. I have a husband, a toddler, work, a home, and schoolwork to keep me occupied. my life is busy, but I love it. my marriage is great and my relationship with my toddler is wonderful as well. there's no reason you can't be successful, have a great marriage, and be a mother. don't be one of those people who believes a woman's place is in the home. empower women to be equal to men!

Success used in career terms maybe, not without family sacrifice...  Success in life.. Absolutely... Sucess is doing what you love and what you have a passion for... To me if a mother never moves up in her job but loves her life and children and family, she is more successful than the ceo who is lonely but has all the money in the world....

depends on what task you're referring to about being successful. keeping the house clean with kids generally not successful. having a career then yes of course you can with children!
