What has happened? Need to vent

Why is there so many children and yes I mean children if your under the age of consent wanting to have sex. Why is it that the new social standards are for people to be having sex so young? I honestly don't get it. You should be thinking bout school and friends and all that stuff not losing your virginity. You don't get to be a kid for long so you should enjoy it while you can not trying to grow up and start having sex.

1. Parents aren't parents anymore.
2. Our society promotes a "It's your body, do whatever you want with it" attitude. 
3. Sexual content is EVERYWHERE
4. The current generation of kids don't have consequences for their actions and they assume that they never will.

Seeing as how way back when, they got married and had babies at 12-13 years old, its not new, and it never will be new.

I don't believe for a second teens wanting to have sex is something new, or that standards have changed.  Hell, teen pregnancy rates are the lowest they've been in years. It's nice to think of a magic past time when all teenagers cared about was friends, dances, and grades, but it never existed.

If anything has changed its that we're more open talking about sex, gender/sexual identity, and protection than ever before. I say, thank goodness, it's about time!

This isn't something new. It was happening when I was a kid. When my mom was a kid. When my grandmother was a kid.

And when my great grandmother was a kid, it still happened, they just got married first.

And I am going to assume it isn't ever going to stop.

It's always been this way. The difference is access to social media and the ability to express their self without much reprocussion....
 It's easier to see now that everyone is pointing it out all over the Internet but this isn't a new thing. Teenagers are walking blobs of hormones and angst lol of course they are curious.

Sexual content being everywhere. Specifically, sexual content and clothing being marketed towards younger kids. 
Lack of comprehensive sex ed. 
Lack of knowledge about brains formation (meaning they don't understand actions have consequences fully until 20-25, when the frontal lobe finishes forming; which is why there's an age of consent). 
Lack of discussions about sex, sexuality, and consequences.

All of these in combination help to create this problem.

It's not new but I definitely see kids experimenting at younger and younger ages.

Just make sure to counteract to the best of your ability. Research and learn for yourself because you've probably also been fed wrong information about a lot of things.

This isn't a new thing. It's been 20 years since I was first a teenager and we were all obsessed about sex back then, just like today's children. The only difference is it's publicly put out there now. Everyone posts their personal life for all to see all over the Internet now a days. Back then, you told your close friends, you didn't broadcast it for all to see.
