What was your reaction when you found out you were carrying multiples?

Made this post just for fun to see how everyone reacted. I initally went in at 6 weeks, (according to my last period at the time, I should have been 8 weeks but I ovulated late) and there was only 1 sac. They had me come back at 8 weeks, and I took our 3 year old daughter and my husband, and surprise! There were two! My husband got a huge smile on his face and I started bawling and saying, "this can't be happening!" so on and so forth. My daughter grabbed my hand and said, "it will be okay Mommy." and as we walked out into the packed waiting room, my daughter told everyone, "Mommy is having twins and she's mad!" Everyone started laughing. It's funny now and couldn't be more excited to be almost 29 weeks with our boys!

How did you react?

I cried. A lot. Mostly excited, but also terrified. Financially we can't afford two, we live in a small place, the time, childcare...ect. Now I'm just going with the flow. I do what I can and they will have everything they NEED and be smothered with love.

Twins run in both sides of our family so I always thought we would have twins. Man was I relieve at my 1st, 2nd, and even third ultrasound to see there was only one. My doctor assured me 100% there was only one. So we went in for our nt scan at 12 weeks 4 days and you know how the tech likes to point out things so you know what u are looking at? Well mine casually said "ok so we have a beautiful set of twins" I jerked so hard I nearly fell off the table. My husband grabbed my hand. (Still not sure if it was to keep me on the table or out of pure shock) I told her she was wrong there was only one. She turned the monitor so I could see it and there were two beautiful babies. I just started laughing and crying. Not sure if it were good tears or bad ones. I looked over at my husband who still had a death grip on my hand and he was just smiling like a lunatic. It's been 2 weeks since we found out and I still can't wrap my head around it. I'm not having a child I'm having two children... At once!  (I must have said that and other similar things a million times the first 24 hours)

My first thought was "holy $hit!" I already have 2 boys and the nursery is a very tiny room so u started freaking out about where we would put TWO! He said I went white as a ghost. He had to keep saying it's ok, it will be ok. I wanted twins with my first but didn't plan on it with the third pregnancy  lol! Now that the shock is gone it's exciting, and soooo amazing to see 2 babies on ultrasounds moving around.

I went in thinking I was 8 weeks. I wasn't expecting a dating scan because they never did that for my first pregnancy. So when they pull out the machine after I gave dates and such, I honestly got excited lol. My daughter and husband was with me. They were going to have my husband leave but because it was his first biological child they let him stay. She started the scan and said 'whoah, wait a minute.' Looks at the nurse and ask if she saw what she saw. They both say yes. So naturally one would get terrified.  She starts looking and again and says 'either my computer has a glitch or I saw two sacs. Oh yup, two sacs.' Looks over at me and her face lit up like a Christmas tree. And said 'oh my god, my first twins!' Lol. My husband got so excited. Me? I was hit with nausea, got lightheaded,  felt terrified. Yea I smiled and said no way, but holy crap was I scared. I was actually 6 weeks 5&6 days. I love my boys so very much, but the fear of having twins is still just as powerful as when I was told it was twins lol. My daughter loves all the babies. She is constantly playing with them now.

I went in for an early ultrasound because of cramps and the ultrasound tech looked at me and said "Jenna, I have some news for you. It isn't bad, but it's going to shock you." and of course I automatically got scared and asked what it was and she said "You're having twins." and I started crying but I'm still not sure if it was out of relief that nothing was wrong, or shock! Either way I'm just happy that everything is measuring perfectly and that they're healthy. I can't wait to hold my two little bundles of joy.

I have no family history , neither does my husband . I NEVER. In a million years though I would have twins . I went in already nervous to see my baby, and BAM! The doctor asks "did you see that?" And I immediately started hysterically laughing. I was so nervous and scared I laughed out loud just to prevent crying. My husband as the doctor if he was joking.  And nop, he wasn't there they were. Imeadiately my response was, "are they both ok? The same size?" Lol I became a mom instantly. But to be honest I'm still in shock and don't thing o will believe it till I'm past my 12 weeks and everything is still ok. I'm super scared something could happen to one of them so it's like I'm not allowing myself to think 2 yet

I was pissed!  Not excited, no positive emotion at all.  Found out at 10w5d.  This is my second and final pregnancy, we wanted two children, planned for two children. My first pregnancy started with twins and was SO hard when it reduced to 1.  Like mourned the loss and still do a couple of years later. We knew twins were a possibility but twins twice was highly unlikely in my mind.  I intentionally skipped the standard 6w scan with IUI (fertility) patients in case we had a similar pregnancy. It took me until 18-22 weeks to really get excited. Emotions started to change after my second appt.  don't get me wrong I'm blessed to be pregnant but it really does cramp all of our future plans for our family.  I consider the second fetus an "unplanned pregnancy" purely from a big picture standpoint.  We will love all 3 of our kids but likely will not be able to provide in the way we intended to.

I was 8w1d when I found out I was having twins. As they were doing the Ultrasound the way they were you could only see one baby at a time and the other just looked like a circle, so I thought it was just another organ or something. Then the Dr. Asked us if we had thought about any names and I told him if it was a boy it would be ______ and girl it would be ________ and he just said "what if it's 2 girls or 2 boys though? you're having twins" I thought he was joking at first... My husband instantlykissed my forehead,  smiled and started laughing hysterically out of fear (he was nervous, being pregnant want even a thought let alone with twins) and I started hyperventilating and swearing up a storm and crying lol
