Medication with IUI?

Question

Hi all, I've been doing unmedicated IUI's at a clinic with frozen sperm. I'm 34 and healthy but after five rounds nothing has taken. Do any of you have experience taking fertility medication with IUI? What did you take? I don't have a lot of faith in my doctor, but it's completely covered by my insurance so I'm not ready to switch. Thanks for your help!

Hey, so my wife and I are TTC and we are doing IUI. We absolutely love our doctor and are very confident in his decision making and care plan. He said that (assuming everything is regular and you have normal cycles and ovulate every month) that on day 12-13 of my cycle, he wants to do an ultrasound and make sure there is indeed a healthy follicle ready to be released from the ovary. Then he wants to do an HCG trigger shot. Then inseminate 12 hours after that. He says that he has really high success rates doing it this way, because it guarantees the egg is in the exact right position to be fertilized. Doing it just by doing ovulation tests can work, if you inseminate after you get a positive. But many miss the exact time that the egg needed to meet the sperm. That's just what our Doctor is doing., just so you have some ideas! Good luck!
