Cloth diapers?

We're thinking of trying cloth diapers (maybe not for the first week or two but after that) but there seem to be so many styles and brands. Does anyone have any recommendations? And any required accessories?

I would recommend trying out different types or brands. I like AIOs the best. There is no stuffing which I love. I use thirsties AIOs(they dry the fastest), smart bottoms(all natural cotton made in the U.S.), and bumgenius freetimes(they sometimes don't fit my LO well). I do like the trim look of best bottoms with a hemp snap in insert. I use those as my travel/go out diaper because you don't have to change the shell unless lo poops. I don't like grovia because my LO always manages to pee on the mesh so I can never reuse the shells. I would suggest buying OS instead of newborn, my LO fit OS at 9lbs. If you buy from Kelly's closet or Nickis diapers they let you use and return diapers that don't work for you. That may be a good way to try out diapers. The diaper that my mom and I liked best was the thirsties aio hook and loop closure(Velcro), it was just like disposable's except you wash them. There are lots of cloth diaper groups on Facebook. Fluff love and cd science is a good group for help but don't get concerned when you read about problems some people have. Most cloth diaper users have little to no trouble with their diapers.

I actually got mine from etsy. They're called momgaroo. Cheaper than bum genius but absolutely amazing quality. May even be better than the name brands out there. I have not gotten to try them out yet since my son is due in Dedember but they are awesome. I can't wait to use them.

I recommend buying a couple of each brand/style and seeing what works for you. I hate Fuzzibunz but I know people who swear by them. I spent a lot on fancy diapers and found that prefolds, flour sack towels and flats with covers work best for us..wish I hadn't spent so much on others because now I have a lot of unused diapers and don't have the money to stash up on what I like the best.

Definitely get a few of different brands. I find that some are better at certain times than others (overnight vs day, etc.). But overall we found that the prefolds and liners wih shells worked best all around. I like the rumparooz shells best. Bunmgenius didn't maintain absorbency over time and leak now. We only use them for short periods of time during the day or when he's staying with grandma - they are easier for others to use than prefolds and shells. We cloth diapered from day one and are very happy with that decision, 18 months later :)

Personally I like GroVia and Best Bottoms. The "insert" snaps in. There is no reason to change the shell unless it is soiled. The fabric is quite breathable. The hemp or bamboo inserts are very absorbent.

I'm 16 weeks and deep in CD research! I've been to a couple local shops with different brands and so far am most interested in Grovia. I like that it's not a pocket to stuff but snaps onto the mesh shell, thus allowing you to reuse the same shell multiple times.

I use a few different types. I've found that each of my kids has different shapes.
Things I like are all in 2 (nappy and wrap separate), double gusets around the legs (I have heavy wetters), and nappies that I can dry easily.

We started out by doing a few nappies a day, from as couple of days old. It eased us in.
