Who had An hsg test done?

I have pcos and they are having me get this done before they move forward with me and medication. 
I have mine scheduled for November 18th if this cycle isn't successful & I'm a little nervous. Can anyone share how it went during and how you felt afterwards?

I thought it was very painful, but everyone is different. Def lots of rest afterwards.

It wasn't that painful it was like the first day of period cramps, just relax and have deep breaths when they inject the dye.. And have some painkillers before and after the procedure..
Expect some spotting after its normal, good luck xx

Yes.  It's just uncomfortable during and like a really bad period after.  Take the day off work and just rest / sleep it off.

Get plenty of rest after bc it's draining. Idk why they don't put women to sleep. It hurts like hell. Be ready for pads. At least it hurt me. Quick but painful.

I had it done once before my fertility treatments. It's a little different for everyone but for me it hurt, more of a discomfort, but I felt fine afterwards. It only takes a few minutes and it was worth it. Don't be too nervous, it'll be quick and done!

Mine wasn't bad. I had it done late in the afternoon and was back at work in the morning. It was uncomfortable, but my dr did prescribe something to take before the procedure to help with the pain, but it still hurt a little. The test did show that I had a blocked tube, but it ended up being some large cysts pushing it closed that they found during a laproscopy I had done later. I was glad I did the hsg because it made trying less stressful and I ended up just taking a break from trying until after surgery where I would have greater odds of conceiving.

It was not pleasant.  Have some painkillers available and definitely take the day off work so you can sleep it off after.

Take an Aleve or something before... For me, it was like having bad period cramps (which I usually do)... The worst part was having to turn side to side a bit to get the dye swished around, but nothing unbearable.  And I don't have a high pain tolerance.  I have heard that it is very painful if you do have a blocked tube.

I thought mine was unbelievably painful I was actually screaming and I usually think I'm pretty good with pain but my friend said hers wasn't bad at all! Lol

Mine was good during. But hours after I was clenching in pain couldn't go over a speed bump without holding my tummy. Even developed PID . But everyone is different
