IUD and first trip to the Vag Dr

Tomorrow I go to the Ob/Gyn for the first time and I'm hoping that they can do a IUD insertion. Will they be able to do it tomorrow the same time as my exam or would I have to wait for another appointment? Also my appointment is in the morning so in the case I get the insertion done will I need to spend the rest of the day resting or can I just return back to school? Any other IUD or Ob/Gyn advice would be appreciated and awesome! Thanks in advance!!! <3
