Is otrivine nasal spray safe during pregnancy?

I'm 5 weeks pregnant, with a very bad cold. Used otrivin a few times, but heard it's not advised during pregnancy...should I be scared?

I just got over a bad cold myself, my doctor gave me a list of pregnancy safe medications and Afrin nasal spray was on the list and is also what I used. It worked for me.

You should try to stay clear of most meds during your first trimester.

You need to google if that is safe during pregnancy. If it's class A, you're good, class B is iffy, class C and below should be avoided. Some class C meds can be taken if it's a worst case scenario type thing. But like I said, most docs will recommend no meds during first trimester.
