Hot coffee☕️
Okay so I'm sure most people have heard the story of the lady who spilled hot coffee on herself and sued McDonald's for tons of money and won. I have seen tv shows make fun of the situation, jokes in movies ect but does anyone know the actual story. It makes me so sad how the media can take something and run with it using so little actual information.
It was an old old women who was in the passenger seat her nephew took her to McDonald's, got her a coffee, pulled up and parked so she could put her cream and sugar in. She took the lid off and spilled the coffee in her lap. The coffee was heated up so hot that it actually burned the skin off the inside of her thighs!! It was heated up to almost 200 degrees. She had to get multiple skin grafts and she almost died. During the investigation they found out that there was 700 other complaints about the temperature of thier coffee. McDonald's only offered her $800 for the damages. So they sued. I would have sued also!
