Scar tattoos?

I have some scars on my wrist that I would like to cover up with a tattoo, they are old and raised. Has anyone had scars tattooed over, will they be covered or will you still be able to see them? Pics welcome! (I have many tattoos already so I am not here for judgement)

This is my cover up of scars they are raised and just make my tattoo look 10times cooler haha but it does hurt to get a tattoo over scars!

I have some scars tattooed over. They are raised. You can see the scars through the tattoo, but not terribly.

I have some scars tattooed over, you can still see and feel them, but they aren't nearly as noticeable now. If it was a bigger tattoo you might not notice the arm was scarred at all until you were really looking.

If they aren't that dark, I'm sure the coverup will be fine. You may have definition with the raised part. My friend tattooed (he is professional) his sisters c-section scar and stretch marks with no problem

Many tattoo artists probably won't want to tattoo over scars just because it's more difficult. But it's done often. Depending on the severity of the scars is how well the ink will take. Find a tattoo artist and get a consultation :) they'll be able to tell you if they can do it and how well it will turn out.

I have a great artist, I think I might go for a consult and see what he can do. He is award winning many times over, a phenomenal artist. I think he can make it work
