Membranes sweep?

Doc says we can do this next week (At 39 +2), but I have heard it is very uncomfortable. So, if you had yours swept, was it worth it? I am a bit uncomfortable and tired, but not desperate to get things going. Did anyone do acupuncture also or instead? How was it?

I had my swept and it was sooo painful, afterward I felt sick to my stomach and light headed. It did nothing but made me bleed. I will never get it again.

It was not worth it. I had it done, waited and waited and waited and still no baby. It hurt and it was uncomfortable and no, to me it was not worth it.

I had it done yesterday- it really wasnt that bad, just uncomfortable but i bled a lot straight after. It may not have brought on labour for me but ive had cramping ever since so it might of done something! Anything to being it on naturally i say!

I've had it done twice. No real help. It's was uncomfortable in the same way an exam is uncomfortable. I did have blood in the mucus plug the next day, both times but nothing other than that.
It only increases your odd by 24% percent, so do with that what you will

I had this done Monday I was 40 weeks had severe cramping all day and lost my mucus plug still no baby or consistent contractions 😞. I don't think it was worth it and would not get it done again.

I got mine done yesterday, it was so painful,  I literally had to hold my breath. Had a little cramping & lost some mucous plug afterwards other than that it doesn't look like anything is happening. I'm 39weeks.

I had my membranes swept at 38.4 with my first daughter and after 24 hours my water broke and then I had her 12 hours later. I just had my membranes swept today with my second and it been 5 hours. Contractions have definitely picked up. It's uncomfortable like a really bad cramp while its being done. Some people experience bleeding, some people experience severe cramping after, but I never had that with either. Good luck though! Hopefully if you have it done it works for you.

I wish my doctor would give me a membrane sweep but I'm GBS positive 😭 I'd do anything to help prevent going overdue
