Divorce???

Question

For those of you that are either divorced or separated, how did you know when to make that call? When you realized things were truly done? (In a NON cheating related situation)

He was in the military and I was finishing college. We were only married about 6 months, when I found out he had been cheating. He was on numerous dating sites, and he wouldn't answer his phone for days on end. Even after I found out he was cheating, I was willing to go to counseling/work on our relationship. I even considered quitting school to move back to his station and fix things. After months of arguing and fighting, I was so exhausted. He actually told me that husbands and wives don't have to call/talk to each other every day. Big red flag. Well, after so many weeks of crying and being depressed, I went with a group of people from work to St. Jude's Children's hospital for the day to play video games, board games, etc to put some smiles on their faces. While I was there, I realized my problems with my husband were so small in the grand scheme of things compared to those poor kids battling cancer. That was the first day in months I didn't feel the need or urge to hear his voice by calling him. It was that day that I knew I was going to be ok, without him. The next day he called me and was all mad because I didn't call him the day before. There was just something about that conversation that ended it for me. I was done. It was the easiest decision in the world to make, knowing I was going to be ok without him. Those kids saved me that day. I am now married to the man of my dreams, thanks to finally being able to make that decision. You just know. From the moment I made the decision to divorce him, I just didn't hurt anymore. I felt free and happy. (Sorry for the long story)

I'm curious too. I'm just not happy and I question his moves that he is unfaithful. I can't tell if it's intuition or just paranoia from being cheated I

I was so emotional when I finally even thought about divorce. It was such a self battle. I signed up for the long haul but was tired of giving my all and him so little. Many nights I cried, barely slept and prayed about what to do. Finally I flat out asked my (then) husband if he thought we were worth fighting for. When he said no....I knew it was time to put in big girl panties and start moving on. Divorce process was horrible! I moved to the opposite end of a different state, gave up the roots I had planted and started fresh. 6 months later I am more successful and happier than ever!!

When I started becoming unhappy and even after communicating my feelings and him trying to "change" or fix things, it still didn't make a difference. Left for two days, decided to come back and when I didn't miss it at all, I knew I needed to leave.

It hurts, because shortly after I left he passed away.

Im not married but my boyfriend of 6 yrs..i just woke up one morning and i just knew it just wasnt there anymore..it took a mth to come out and tell him..but when you know...you know ..good luck!

For three days he was verbally abusive.  On the third, he brought his father into our room and said "as my father is my witness I don't want you anymore."
