How much is too much?

I check my babies heartbeat every morning and every night before I go to bed. Is that too much?!

Thats why i didnt buy a doppler! I swear if they invented a window to the uterus i would totally get one, i even told the Ob that i want an ultrasound machine at home lol

I find that excessive. I've heard many times that dopplers are not as safe as moms believe them to be. Even if the effects in baby are small I would not be comfortable subjecting them to those dangers that often.

I listen every night.  Literally for 10 seconds at most,  just to reassure myself.  I don't see how that's any worse then people checking weekly and listening for 5-10 mins..

Usually on the sites it says use with prudence and other sites I've read generally say 2-3 times a week is what is recommended. I try to only use mine once a week for a few seconds.

If the stress of not knowing is driving you insane as long as its a quick listen the knowledge is better than the stress. But otherwise it sends a lot of unnecessary sound waves which has been shown to not be beneficial and can possibly be detrimental. But twice a day every day is really a lot.

How much is too much?
