I think they are both a very big commitment. But marriage takes two people to commit in order to work. Having a child doesn't necessarily.

Marriage... Lots of people raise a child together with no commitment. Just because you have a kid doesn't mean you have a partner. But that's my definition of marriage, some people say you can always get divorced. For me marriage is permanent that's why I think it's crazy when people get married so quickly... To me knowing someone two years is too soon for marriage. I think it should be over 5

I feel like marriois the biggest commitment because for me that includes children. Making your entire family stuck together and click is all in one for me.

I love my husband. In the 2.5 years we've been together I have experienced the greatest heartbreak I could ever imagine. Now that we're expecting our first child I feel a child is more commitment. In the first year your child depends on you literally for everything. It can't feed itself, wipe its own ass, give itself medicine. My husband can do all those things on his own. We don't rely on each other. My child will rely on me. I am 24 and my mother will still call me and tell me she's worried about me for no reason other than mothers intuition. When my husband feels pain I am empathetic towards him. I do what I can to feel what he feels. But I live half hour away from my mom and she will get her mama senses going and call me til she gets an answer. My grandmother still does that for my mother and my grandma is 80..... A marriage and a child are both commitments no doubt. But I believe a child is more so.

It depends. I know people who have walked out on their kids. I know people who have walked out on their marriage. They BOTH take commitment, a marriage or parenting doesn't work without being committed.

Marriage isn't for my man, but we have a commitment to each other plus we have a kid so that's his definition of marriage been together for 2 years living together for almost 1.5 years and our daughter is almost 14 months old ☺️
